JOHN FRANCIS, a sixteen-year-old convict sent up from Dayton to Columbus, O., escaped from his guard at the court-house on the 26th. He was one of the principal witnesses for the State in the Thirteenth ward “A” tally-sheet forgery cases, which were on preliminary hearing.
