James C. BERRY, formerly of this county, died at his home near Selma, California, Sept. 11, 1902. Jim was well known in Texas county, and his many friends regret to hear of his death.
The following account of his death is taken from the Selma (Calif.) Irrigator.
James C. BERRY died at 10:35 Thursday evening, Sept. 11, 1902, at his home east of Selma. He had been indisposed for some time, principally on account of overwork, but was down sick only a few days. He drove into town in his buggy last Friday and was around greeting his many friends as usual, although he was feeling bad and expressed his intention of going away to some springs for rest and recuperation. Few people in town suspected the serious nature of his illness and his death was a great surprise.
