"How do I subscribe or unsubscribe from the Newspaper-Abstracts mail list?"
For the individual mail mode of the mail list send an email to:
and in the body of the email write only the word subscribe or unsubscribe
For the digest mail mode of the mail list send an email to:
and in the body of the email write only the word subscribe or unsubscribe.

To switch from individual mail mode to digest mail mode (or vice versa) you must unsubscribe from the version you are currently receiving and then subscribe to the version you wish to receive.

Please do not send me email attachments for transcribing. The quality needed to read and transcribe attachments is very poor.
"What type of submissions are acceptable?"
Type of articles we can accept.
Dated todays date in 1938 or earlier
Extract - A selection from a writing, such as an exact transcript.
Any news item that appeared in a newspaper published before 1938 is accepted as an extraction and may be submitted exactly as it appeared in the original newspaper or as an abstract.
Dated tomorrows date in 1938 or later
Abstract - A summary of points usually presented in skeletal form, such as an index.
Any news item that appeared in a newspaper published 1938 or later is accepted as an abstract only and should be limited to an index type format.
"What should I include in my submission?"

"Who retains the rights to the abstracts I submit?"
All rights to the pages found within this site are retained by the original submitter of the information. Pages may be printed or copied for personal use only.
